An intensive 6-day program exploring the intersection of Probabilistic Artificial Intelligence and Financial Engineering
Topics to be Covered
The AI and Finance winter school will give participants an exposition to basic topics/concepts in finance while covering important techniques from AI that are used in financial engineering. The school will be of interest to students, researchers and practitioners who want to learn about the intersection of AI and Finance.
Risk-Sensitive Multi Armed Bandits
Exploration and exploitation under uncertainty, with risk-aware decision making and reward optimization, fundamentals of Heavy Tail distributions
Kernel Methods
Kernel functions, feature spaces, SVMs and Gaussian processes
Brownian Motion and Stochastic Calculus
Brownian motion, Itô calculus, Stochastic Differential Equations, and applications
Pricing of Options and Derivatives
Financial instruments and portfolios, portfolio theory, option pricing, and risk measures
RL for Finance
Reinforcement learning for portfolio optimization, time series modeling, and leveraging AI in securitized products
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Probability, Statistics, Linear Algebra, Optimization. The program is suited for 2nd year engineering and above. For reference, you can look at the last year's program here: Winterschool 2025
